In his time of leisure, Toby was an avid spades player. He and his wife, Carol, were always partners and the team to beat. Also, up until he could no longer travel, Toby was part of many family trips. Whether he convoyed out west to California or down south to Louisiana, setting sail on a cruise ship, or staying on a tropical island, he was an active and dependable participant in many family functions. Toby also had a nice touch with the greenery and was known for how he maintained his plants.
Throughout his bout with his illnesses, Toby maintained a positive attitude and never complained. He became the anchor for many as he spent his last days in his garage laughing and hanging with his comrades.
