Sylvester proudly served his country in the Army, a commitment that exemplified his dedication and strength. After his military service, he married and raised a family while dedicating 42 years to the Evinrude Outboard Motor Company. Proud of his hard work and dedication he was able to provide his family the “American Dream.”
He is survived by his son, David and daughter-in-law Jan Malkowski, along with his cherished granddaughter, Emily (Marty) Franzkowiak. Sylvester was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, June (née Cook), his son Mark, and his dear grandson, Matthew (Mattie) Malkowski. He was also proceeded in death by his parents, Stanley and Martha (née)Kirchner Malkowski and in-laws Thomas and Evelyn (née Wolfe) Cook. While he leaves behind a loving family, his spirit will undoubtedly live on through their cherished memories.
A celebration of Sylvester‘s life will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, 4:30 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), Grafton. A memorial gathering will be held after the service, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and love for the remarkable man he was. We warmly invite you to join in honoring his life, sharing in the joy he bought to those around him and remembering the good times spent together.
Sylvester’s legacy will continue to shine brightly as the memories of his love for fishing trips, trains, photography, family vacations, and gatherings with many good times will fill our hearts. His laughter, gentle smile, and kindness will be missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear “Papa” your journey has now led you home.
