Stephanie Antionette (Smith) Bursek

April 17, 1946 ~ January 24, 2025 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Obituary

Stephanie Antionette Bursek died on January 24th after a brave fight against cancer.  Born in Boston April 17th, 1946, spent most of her young life in Sacramento, California.  She moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and married Thomas Bursek.  They settled in Grafton, Wisconsin in 1972.

In 1991 she completed a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, from UW-Milwaukee, while working as a Benefits Coordinator at W.H. Brady and raising her children.

She enjoyed volleyball and bowling leagues, and loved playing cards, especially bridge, which she excelled at. She had many friends and loved traveling, camping and downhill skiing and watching the Packers and Brewers.  She was a fun-loving, intelligent and thoughtful thrift shopper who always thought of everyone else before her, especially her children and beloved grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Vivian and George Smith, her sisters Cecilia Burkdoll and Suzanne Quan, and her ex-husband Thomas Bursek.  Stephanie is survived by her children Robert Bursek (Stephanie Plotz), Michelle Bursek and Lisa Clarke (Nicklaus Neureuther), her sister Kathy Nagarajan (Bhima), brother Byron Smith (Grace), her grandchildren Dustin, Hayden, Cecilia, Arabella and Anthony, her step-grandchildren Alva, Emery, Klaus and Emmy, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

There will be a celebration of life at the Rose-Harms Legion Post 355, 1540 13th Avenue, Grafton, Wisconsin 53024 on Sunday, February 23rd, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 pm.  The family is accepting memorials to the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice and Muttland Meadows dog park.
