(née Schabach) Cherished wife, mother, and guiding light to her family and friends, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2023. Loving wife and best friend of Robert "Bob" Rauch for 51 years. Dear mother of Kristine (Keith) Ellis, Bridget (Jack) Penix and Paul (Kelly) Rauch. Cherished grandmother of Abigail and Katherine Ellis, Nathan, Vincent, and Audrey Penix, and Kiera and Benjamin Rauch. Preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Germaine Schabach, and her brother Thomas Schabach. Sandie is further survived by her four sisters, Susan, Denise, Theresa, and Mary, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and many dear friends.
Sandie started her career as a certified beautician and then secretary. Following her marriage to Bob, she dedicated her time and talents to her family, filling her home with warmth and kindness. She had great joy for cooking homemade meals and desserts, and providing for her loved ones.
Above all else Sandie was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She prayed everyday for her family and all those she knew. Sandie was an avid gardener and could often be found in her vegetable garden or tending to her flowers. She loved being outdoors enjoying all four seasons, especially shoveling snow. Sandie enjoyed crafting – creating many works in ceramics, painting, sewing, and crocheting.
Bob and Sandie traveled the world together during their marriage. Sandie would immerse herself in the new cultures and people they befriended on their journeys. Sandie had a lifelong love of learning, embracing new technologies, cooking classes, and reading many books. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to play a variety of card games.
Beyond Sandie’s devotion to family and friends, she was an active member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Parish. Throughout her life she was committed to volunteer work including tutoring at St. Rose’s and St. Gabriel’s. Sandie was also very active with civic services for the Village of Richfield, WI, beginning her tenure working the polls for elections and ending as a section chief. In addition to Sandie’s dedication to the church and community, she enjoyed volunteering at Froedtert Hospital Menomonee Falls and sharing her many talents with those involved in the Spring Splendor Gala.
We were blessed to have been loved by her and blessed to love her. She will be missed by all that were touched by her. Mom was love amplified.
