Robert O’Neal Williams peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the age of 68. He was born on January 18, 1956, to Roy and Claudia Williams (nee Ross).
Robert graduated from the Wisconsin School for the Visually Handicapped in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1975. He went on to earn a degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College where, upon graduating, was offered a newly created position in the technology department. From there he moved to the college’s Learning Center where he trained and supported students’ computer science skills and competency.
He will be remembered and deeply missed by his ex-wife and best friend Ruth; children Leslie Angove, Sara Williams, Maria (Jake) Schoville and Tim Johnson; grandchildren Amerin (David) Jones, Makayla Davis, Justin, Jeremy, and Megan Schoville; sisters Loretta Ward, Marilyn Smith, Darnise Williams; and countless other family and friends.
Robert is proceeded in death by his wife and love of his life, Rebecca Williams, his parents, his son Curtis Brown, sisters Jeanette Fitzgerald and Linda Williams, along with a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Throughout his life, Robert was known for his charisma, love of the Milwaukee Bucks, vast knowledge and appreciation for music and notorious sweet tooth, especially for a yellow butter sheet cake. He was the type of person who took great interest in every person he met, charming many along the way. While born visually impaired, his blindness never detracted his ability to experience life. He had a passion for music and learned to play the drums performing in a few bands with his friends. His resiliency was most notable through his DJing, cooking and baking, mastery of every tech gadget and consistent offer to drive any one of his family member’s cars (which he successfully got to try after much convincing).
His love for his children and grandchildren was profound, leaving everyone with countless memories and stories that we will forever hold close. In honor of Robert’s life, a celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 114 E Walker St, Milwaukee, WI from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
