Robert William Metrey

Age 79, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026. Born in Milwaukee, Bob graduated from Pius XI High School where he was the student manager of the baseball, basketball, and football teams. He was among the first members elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame at Pius XI High School. Throughout his life, Bob was a strong supporter of all the school's sports activities. He was also an avid Packers, Bucks, and Brewers fan. After graduation, Bob was employed by the Federal Government Department of Agriculture Forestry Division in Milwaukee for over 40 years. A parishioner of St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree. He was also a long-standing member of the Wisconsin Electrical Historical Society. 

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Richard J. and Catherine M. Metrey; his sister Pamela and his twin sister Mary Catherine, and his sister-in-law, Dr Cheryl A. Metrey. Bob's memory will live on in the hearts of his loving brothers and sister-in-law, Richard E. and Mary Sue Metrey of Williamsburg, Virginia; Dr. George D. Metrey of Aruba, formally of Wyckoff, New Jersey; four nephews, one niece, and numerous grand nephews, nieces, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sat. March 7, 2026, from 9:30am until the time of Mass at 11am, all at Pius XI High School Chapel, 135 N. 76th St., Milwaukee, WI 53213. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery.

A kind, loyal, and selfless man, Bob treasured family above all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pius XI High School.
