Robert Francis Kirst

Mequon, WI - Age 93. Peacefully entered eternal life on Sat. June 4, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Jane (nee Buero) whom he married at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Milwaukee in 1951; children: Marcia (Stewart) Weinhoff, Mark (Praphassorn) Kirst, Mona (Dr. Jerome) Gildner, and Michael (Debra) Kirst; loving grandchildren: Daryl and Courtney Weinhoff, Monica and Peter (Christine) Kirst, Mackenzie and Bryce Gildner and Logan and Allyson Kirst; and great granddaughter Kaia Kirst. Beloved brother of the late Carlton (the late Donna) Kirst.

Bob was born and raised in Milwaukee. He served with the Armed Forces Radio Service in post WWII occupation of Japan from 1946 to 1948. Bob graduated from Marquette University Law School in 1955, a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, a founding member of the St. Thomas More Lawyers Society in 1957, and along with the late Judge Patrick T. Sheedy, was a founding member of the North Water Street Bar Association. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Good Hope Church and instrumental in the creation of the OLGH School and Parish Foundation which helped to provide long term support for both.

Bob was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His faith and family were his greatest joy. He will be remembered for his huge heart and willingness to help others.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 15 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church 7152 N. 41st St. Milwaukee (N. 41st St at W. Good Hope Rd.) from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Mequon.
