Obituary

Mary Maxine (nee Liming) Albrecht, age 96, was always known to her family and friends as “Maxine”, died at The View at Pine Ridge Memory Care in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, on December 7, 2025.

Mary Maxine Liming was born January 9, 1929, in Rugby, North Dakota, and was the second oldest of the nine children of Charles "Barb" Liming, Sr, and Mary Ellen “Nellie” (nee Hamilton) Liming. She is preceded in death by her steadfast husband, Lee, who died on October 29, 2021, at the age of 95. They were married for 73 years and had five children. Maxine is survived by their five children and spouses, Nancy (Curt) Waddell, Ellen (Tom) Diciaula, Julie (Tom) Toonen, Kent (Laura) Albrecht, and Peggy (Matt) Thiele.

She is also survived by her sister Nancy Keller of Wisconsin, her sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Bradley Harmel of Colorado, and her sisters-in-law Angela Jack of California and Mavis Albrecht of North Dakota. Eighteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbors, and friends will miss her ready smile and her offer of “just stop in for a cup of coffee”.

Maxine and Lee retired to their home on Silver Lake from Brookfield in 1985. They named it “Maximum Leesure” and loved entertaining, especially their monthly Bridge Club. They were members of St. Jerome Catholic Church and active with the Silver Sneakers Exercise Group. Maxine had a career in retail women’s fashion and was a model and talent for style shows, print, and television commercials, as well as starring in a national ad for Oil of Olay. Fashion and design were important to her; she was also an artist her entire life.
