Born to life on January 23, 1931, in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, the daughter of Maurice and Lillian (nee Schroeder) Kennedy, Maureen Ann Newkirk was born to eternal life on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, Wisconsin at the age of 93 years. Maureen was preceded in death in 2018 by her beloved husband of 65 years, George E. Newkirk. She was the dear mother of Michael (Rosalie) Newkirk, John Newkirk, Mary (Aaron) Newkirk, Kenneth (Patti) Newkirk, the late Daniel Newkirk and the late Susan Newkirk, the cherished grandmother of Michael Newkirk and Elizabeth (Rick) Stenson and the loved great-grandmother of Dominic (Rhea), Salvatore, Rocco, Romeo, Faith and Hope. Maureen was the fond sister of Mary Clare Schey, Kay Buddy and the late Leo Kennedy, and she is further survived by loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held for Maureen on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 9:30am until the time of Mass at 11:00am, all at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, 7152 North 41st Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53209. Burial will follow the Mass at 12:30pm at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 West Nash Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53210, please meet at the cemetery offices.
