Mary Jane Beaudoin Plutshack was born to Eternal Life on March 14, 2026, at the age of 97, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 21, 1928, in Chippewa Falls, WI as the eldest daughter of Matt and Cecilia (Mondeau) Beaudoin.
In 1949, Mary Jane married Charles Lindell Plutshack and began her married life in Milwaukee, WI. Together they raised 11 children (in a 1 bathroom house). Chuck preceded her in death in 1991 at the age of 65, after 41 years of marriage.
Mary Jane was an active mother, supporting her children in all their activities. As a result, she was a Girl Scout leader, Den Mother with the Boy Scouts, active in PTA and engaged in church activities while a member of Mother of Perpetual Help parish. She and Chuck spent many years helping to organize the church picnic and running the games at McGovern Park’s 4th of July festivities. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls, where she belonged to a group of caring women who made sleeping bags for the unhoused population. At both parishes, she volunteered to prepare and serve food for St Ben’s meal program.
Mary Jane and her circle of friends were always on the lookout for new craft activities. Consequently, she was a knitter, basket weaver and prided herself on the customized, home-made cards she loved to send to family and friends. For many years, she and her friends met at the YMCA for water aerobics several times a week, followed by lunch.
Mary Jane was an avid follower of The Wheel of Fortune. She refused to watch this in the same room as Chuck, as he was prone to blurt out the answer as soon as he knew it. And everyone knew that 6:30-7:00 was off limits for phone calls because her show was on.
Mary Jane was a devout follower of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Marquette and UW Basketball, rarely missing a game even in the final days.
Mary Jane is survived by her children, Lee (Anne) Plutshack, Tom (Monica Stout) Plutshack, Kitty (Mike) Kaari, Marianne (Mike) Pronold, Pat (Dan deGuzman) Nelson, Chuck Plutshack, Jr, Betsy Franks, Mark Plutshack, Ellen (Mark Freybler) Hopper, Julie (Jesus) Alvarado. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Gerry Schmitz and sister, Jackie Kohlin.
Mary Jane was also Granny to 21 Grandchildren, Christopher Schmitz, Annie Gonzalez, Jessie Cabrera, Jackie Pronold, Audrey Nelson, Drew Schmitz, Jim Kaari, Matt Pronold, Stephanie Kaari Marrero, Vicki Plutshack, Evan Lewis, Chase Hopper, Alex Plutshack, Chelsey Gardner, Kaitlin Guessford, Nick Hopper, Tori Plutshack, Connor Allen, Mackenzie Allen and Olivia Alvarado. She is further survived by 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Jane Schmitz; and grandson, Michael Nelson; twin sisters Joyce Moe and Janet Bushland; and sister-in-law Margaret Plutshack.
Visitation Wednesday, April 8th from 4:00pm until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, N88W17658 Christman Rd, Menomonee Falls.
