Obituary

Margaret I. Manning, of Port Washington, WI went home to the Lord peacefully on June 2, 2024 at the age of 94.  
 
Margaret was born in Oshkosh, WI on October 2, 1929 to George and Frances Rose Middleton (nee Van Laanen).  She spent her childhood years in Ripon, WI, graduated from Ripon High School and attended Ripon College.  
 
Margaret moved to Milwaukee and began working at Northwestern Mutual.  She met her husband, John Manning in Milwaukee and they were married May 3, 1958.  Margaret and John lived in Milwaukee and Glendale, WI where they raised 3 children.  They were married 40 years before John's passing in 1998.  
 
Margaret is survived by her 3 children, Joseph (Jackie) Manning, Anne Marie (Ron) Krzoska, and Maureen (Mark) Krueger and her grandchildren, Jimmy Manning (Chris Sosinski), Jon (Maggie) Manning, Jeanna (Beau) Junker, Michael (Mary) Krzoska, Amy Krzoska (Austin Bonestroo) and Katie Krzoska.  She is further survived by 5 great grandchildren, Edison, Greta and Halley Manning and Vada and Arie Junker as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Rose Middleton, her husband John T. Manning and siblings Rosemary Molinari, Frank Middleton, Carrie Lembke and Paul Middleton.  
 
Margaret worked at Kohl's Department store at Bayshore for a number of years.  She was a longtime member of the former St Nicholas/Blessed Trinity Parish and most recently was a member of St Eugene Congregation in Fox Point.  Margaret was active in the parish RENEW Group and attended the first mission trip from St Eugene to their sister parish in Uganda, Africa in 2002.  
 
Margaret was the last surviving member of a group of friends she met as a child at Catholic Girl's Camp (Tekawitha).  The group remained close friends for 70+ years.  Margaret enjoyed playing bridge, mahjong and games of all kinds as well as doing daily crossword and other puzzles.  She enjoyed traveling and took many trips throughout the US, several trips to Ireland, Europe and Africa.  She was also an avid follower of the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Marquette basketball.  
 
In her later years, Margaret moved from Glendale to Brown Deer and then to Port Washington to be closer to her children.  She lived life to the fullest, loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren above all else but also cherished each and every friendship she made along the way.  
 
Visitation will take place at St Eugene Congregation, 7600 N. Port Washington Road, Fox Point, WI on Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 10:30am - 12:15pm with Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm.  Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.  
 
Memorials in Margaret's name are suggested to:  St Vincent de Paul Society, St Eugene Congregation or to Pro Life Wisconsin.
