Obituary

Lucille Margaret Pitel “Lucy”

(nee Hoffman)  Passed away June 28, 2022, at the age of 90 years.

Lucille was the loving and devoted wife for over 69 years of the late Laurel L. Pitel, who preceded her in death in 2021. She was the dear mother of Steven (Cathy) Pitel and David Pitel. Lucille was the adored grandmother of Kevin (Beth) Pitel and Julie Pitel and great-grandmother of Aaron Pitel and Nathan Pitel. She was preceded in death by her brothers and their wives, Gerald (Jane) Hoffman and George (Margaret) Hoffman; and her brothers-in-law and their wives, Howard (Marilyn) Pitel and Eldon (Marceda) Pitel. Lucille is further survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Lucy first worked at Oster Corporation, then started a 31-year career at Boston Store department store, working in the customer assistance area as a gift wrapper. She was a longtime member of St. Monica Parish in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin.

In her free time, Lucy enjoyed sewing, doing crosswords puzzles, playing cards, especially sheepshead, traveling and taking cruises with her husband Laurel, but she especially loved her time spent at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin and truly cherished her time when she was with her grandchildren.

Visitation will be held for Lucy on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 4:30pm until the time of Mass at 5:30pm, all at St. Monica Parish, 5681 North Santa Monica Boulevard, Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin 53217. Private entombment next to her husband Laurel will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Monica Parish.
