Linda Zukowski Obituary

Linda Mae Zukowski

(nee McManus) Born to eternal life August 7, 2021 at age 54 years after courageously confronting stage IV cholangiocarcinoma for fifteen months.  Loving wife of Thomas Harry Zukowski, MD and faithful mother to Grace Christine, Eve Irene and Mae Ann. Proud sister of her McManus brothers Matthew, Wayne, Doug, Patrick, and Neil. Preceded in death by her devoted parents Charles and Edna McManus, her grandparents including her grandmother Anna De Ette Kimber, and her beloved aunt Christine Swords. Further survived by numerous family and extended family, including her dear friend and sister-in-law Paula Dlesk, and many friends.

Born in Peru, IL on December 4, 1966, Linda was raised in Oglesby, IL where she competed in softball and gymnastics during childhood years. She then attended St. Bede Academy High School and participated in cheerleading and band, playing the bass clarinet. She was a graduate of Illinois Valley Community College and then Illinois State University, earning a B.A. in Marketing. Linda married Tom in 1993 and, after a post-college career in the insurance industry, she aspired to a life raising her children and volunteering at their schools, Holy Family Parish School and Divine Savior Holy Angels High School.
Linda enjoyed all forms of family time in her homes from Whitefish Bay to Shorewood to Fox Point, tirelessly engaging herself in the raising of her three daughters with Tom and cheering them and their friends and classmates on in their pursuits. Cheering loudly supporting the team at her girls' basketball games was a true joy for her. She also loved her quiet moments to enjoy the comfort of good chocolate, or a nice latte, as well as caring for her pets, actively reading on diverse social issues, and expanding her large circle of friends.

Visitation Friday August 13, 2021, from 4PM until 8PM and Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 9:30AM until 10:45AM, with family remarks and eulogy then shared, followed immediately by Mass at 11AM, all at Holy Family Parish Church, 4825 N. Wildwood Ave, Whitefish Bay, WI. Burial at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery in Cedarburg-Mequon, WI. In celebration of Linda’s vibrant life, brightly colored attire is encouraged.

Special thanks to her caring and excellent professional healthcare team including oncologist Dr. John Scott Maul MD, palliative care specialist Dr. Francois Blumenfeld-Kouchner DO, as well as the outstanding advanced practice providers and nurses and clinic staff of Aurora Cancer Care-Grafton. Thank you also to the physicians of Mayo Clinic-Rochester and MD Anderson Cancer Center-Houston involved in her comprehensive care including all latest advancements in treatment. Also, much appreciation to the staff of Aurora-Zilber Family Hospice for such compassionate and dignified care.

Donations requested to Milwaukee Rescue Mission or similar charity of your choice, children's educational reading programs, ongoing research in the cure for cholangiocarcinoma, or a cancer charity of your choice.

Linda consciously chose kindness in her life and with everyone she met, may she now rest in God's peace.
