Kenneth Francis Walz

Passed into eternal life on March 18, 2023 at the age of 68 years.  He was born to the late Helmuth Walz and the late Agnes (nee Hoerth) Walz in Milwaukee.  Ken has one sister, Nancy Walz Leiting.  Nancy and the late Gary Leiting gave Ken 2 nephews - Keith married to Nikki (Norman) and Kevin married to Amanda (Homolka) and Ken is great uncle Brayden and Maycee Leiting.

Ken graduated from Mother of Perpetual Help grade school in 1968 and Messmer High School in 1972. After high school Ken enlisted in the US Army in August 1972 and served for 3 years.

  This began his great love and admiration for the military and all veterans.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota and was an extraordinary employee at the Milwaukee Health Department and then was employed by the Wisconsin Health Department until he retired early, smart man, in 2014.  That way he could devote more time to his volunteer interests - American Legion, Zablocki Veterans Hospital, food pantry, blood bank, humane society and Sojourners House.  He was free to follow his interests of walking his dog, Dee; hiking, biking, motorcycling even cross country, camping, swimming and baking.  Always a Packer fan and dog lover.  Always willing to lend a hand or bake cookies!!

Memorial Gathering Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Jelacic Funeral Home, 5639 West Hampton Ave. Milwaukee  from 10:00 AM until a Time of Sharing at 12:30 PM.

He will be missed and remembered by many.
