Kathleen “Kitty” Trokan left on her final adventure March 13, 2026 in Waconia, MN. Kitty was a free spirit who lived life on her own terms, fiercely independent but gently accepting of whatever life had to offer. She was born on September 30th,1950 to Evelyn and Rudy Porubcan of West Allis, Wi. Along with her parents, she and her brothers, Randy and Denny, traveled around the United States in their camper each summer, and Kitty developed a love of travel and adventure. Barely out of high school, Kitty set out on her own and didn’t look back. She found a home at Casa Maria Catholic Worker house where she worked to help those in need and found a family among her fellow volunteers. That is where she met the love of her life, Mike Trokan. When they married she gained five additional brothers and, although they eventually went their own ways, she was a part of the Trokan family for the rest of her life. She worked many years as a waitress before training to become a registered dietician. The rest of her career she worked as a hospital dietician, and hospital volunteer after she retired. Kitty lived for many years in her dream condo in Port Washington, overlooking Lake Michigan. A gypsy at heart, she traveled all over the world, exploring Europe with Mike and the Trokan brothers, going to Africa with her brother, Randy, and nephew, Jamaica with her best friend Nancy Wright, and cruising around the world with her dad. She spent her final years in Minnesota to be close to her nieces, Jennifer Phillips (Shawn), Angela Williams (Joe Chapman), Carrie Boettcher (Chad), nephew Jeff Porubcan (Alicia), and beloved sister-in-law, Phyllis Porubcan, as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews.
