Judith Y. Benson (nee Morgan) was a New Year’s Eve baby, born on December 31, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Curtis Morgan originally from Jackson, Tennessee and Carrine McCullough Morgan originally from Selmer, Tennessee. Raised in a loving family environment in Milwaukee and surrounded by her three siblings, Curtis Jr., Jacqueline and Darryl, Judy received her formal education from the Milwaukee Public Schools system.
Prior to her retirement, Judy was a dedicated employee of the housekeeping services division of the City of Milwaukee. She faithfully cared for both of her parents during their later years. In her free time, Judy enjoyed going to State Fair and eating cream puffs, fishing and playing cards, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, having long phone conversations with family and friends, and taking relaxing trips to the family cabins in Spooner, Wisconsin and to Jackson, Tennessee.
Judy passed on November 5, 2022, while she was a patient at Aurora Sinai Samaritan Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She joins in a heavenly reunion with those who have gone before her: her dear son Trentino “Trent” Benson; her parents Curtis and Carrine Morgan; and her siblings Curtis (Esther) Morgan Jr., Jacqueline Richardson and Darryl W. Morgan. She leaves to mourn her passing her grandson, Gabriel Burton; great-granddaughter Ariyel Burton; nieces and nephews Deborah (Michael) Jackson, Curtis (Carol R.) Morgan III, Craig (Julie) Mayberry, Jacqueline Weatherall, Renee Morgan, Jovan Long, Desiree Richardson, David Richardson, Douglas Richardson, Collette “CoCo” Risiner, Penny Morgan and Jeannine Richardson-Wamke; cousins Sheila Knox and Robert Henning; and her very dear friends Geneva Harris, Sharon Risiner, Jean Stauber, Patricia Arms and Veronica Franklin; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
