Joseph L. Fields

January 2, 1947-June 27, 2026.

A loyal friend and beloved father figure to many, Joseph “Uncle Joe” Fields lived every day in service of others. Joseph was born in Cumberland, Maryland and moved to Wisconsin at a young age where he attended Milwaukee Tech. From there, he moved to Fondulac to work on a farm, learning the many skills that made him a hardworking, dependable, and selfless man. 

When in need, Joe was the one to call.

Always present to those he loved, you often found Joseph going the extra mile to lend a helping hand, share stories over breakfast, spread words of encouragement, or tell a new joke. His good humor and ability to embrace life through obstacles was an inspiration to many.

Joe understood what mattered—family, friends, faith, and a Brewers’ win.

Joseph is survived by his sister Elizabeth (nee Fields) Nedobeck, and his nieces and nephews Melissa (Robert) Riley, Patrick Nedobeck, Mary Beth (Tim) Collins, Joe (Kirsten) Fields, Clay Fields. He is also survived by Trisha, Lynette, Bobby, and many beloved great-nieces and nephews.

Joseph has been reunited with his mother Bernadette (nee Wolford) Fields, and other family members Clarence Fields, Ellen Fields, Donald Nedobeck, Mary "Aunty Mame" Wolford, Ross DeGrave and Terry Spencer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joe on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3100 S 41st St, Milwaukee, WI 53115.
