John F. Ehlinger

Age 68 years.  Passed away unexpectedly Saturday February 22, 2025.  Beloved husband of Bonnie (nee Nichols) for 47 years.  Dear father of Michael (Michelle) Ehlinger, Christine (David) Watts, Kathryn (Ryan) Trudell, and Thomas (Jessi) Ehlinger.  Loving grandfather of Anthony Ehlinger, Shaun Jacobson, Kassandra (Christopher) Finley, Darius Watts, Damien Ehlinger, Ava Galindez-Ehlinger, Jonathan Galindez-Ehlinger, Josiah McNeill, and Teagan Ivy.  5 great grandchildren.  Brother of Mark (Kay) Ehlinger and their 3 children Luke, Kyle and Amy.

Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Loretta Ehlinger and parents in law Marvin and Darlene Nichols.

John was a graduate of Marquette University where he met his wife Bonnie.  They settled in Butler where John became very involved.  He was a Boy Scout leader and even earned the rank of Eagle Scout himself while he was a scout.  John was also the Village of Butler President and member of the Butler Area Chamber of Commerce.  He was the commissioner of the Butler Little League for almost 10 years.  He was also the President of the Green Bay Packer - Ed West, fan club.  

John was involved in both mortgages and real estate in the area.  He was very active with his faith and his parish (St. Agnes).

Visitation Saturday March 1, 2025 at St. Agnes Catholic Church 12801 West Fairmount Avenue, Butler from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
