John Andrew Buchta
Born to life on May 8, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Paulina Ambra Buchta, John passed away surrounded by family on December 31, 2022, in Weston, Wisconsin at age 95 years.
John was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrae Richter Buchta; his daughter, Sandra Buchta; his granddaughter Jessica Wheeler; siblings Joe, Rose and Mary, and his best friend and relative Albert (June) Dostal. He is survived by his beloved wife Gabriela Dostalova-Buchta; his dear children John (Hildy) Buchta and Denise (Alan) Wheeler; his dear grandchildren, Samantha (Bradley) Yanke, Alan-John Wheeler, Jenny (Matt) Kuhnwald and Heather (Chris) Schuh; his cherished great-grandchildren, Addison, Ashley, Audree, Logan, Natalie and Sydney; his devoted brother-in-law, Stanislav Dostal; and other family and friends both here and in Prague, Czech Republic.
John worked for over 40 years as a machine builder at Wisconsin Machine Tool Company, and he was a proud World War II United States Army Air Corps veteran.
Visitation will be held for John on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 9:30am until the time of Service at remembrance at 11:30am, all at Jelacic Funeral Home, Inc., 5639 West Hampton Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53218. Burial with military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with follow the service.
