Jean Devlin Obituary

Jean Devlin

(nee Grasser) Passed away peacefully on December 13, 2020, at age 85 years.

Heaven gained another angel. Jean always greeted you with a smile, the social butterfly that she was, and she had a silly sense of humor that we will certainly hold the memories in our heart. She always put everybody first, and all will never forget her tenacity, wit and charm, and undeniable love and the care she had for all.  Jean was filled with an adventurous spirit and she was full of life up until the end, last summer even water skiing, kayaking and doing so much more.

Family and friends were proud of Mom and her accomplishments. She was our hero and a hero to the 17 that she saved in an apartment fire year’s back. Through the years, the efforts of this fiercely independent, hard working, dedicated and determined woman were beyond anybody's imagination. There was never a job too large to too small that she would not tackle. Mom was a devoted Roman Catholic who spent countless hours volunteering with many organizations and especially with Crossroads Interfaith for over 20 years. She was a proud alumnus of Girls Tech High School.

She will be sorely missed and is survived by her children: William (Pam) Devlin, Robert Devlin, Patricia Devlin, Kathie (David) McKee; her grandchildren: Marsha (Dustin), William Jr, Andrew, John, and Alex; her great-grandchildren: Ethan and Owen; her siblings: brother Theodore (Jorlyn), twin sister Jeanette, sister Janice; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention here.

A socially distance Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 11:30am until the time of Mass at 1:00pm. all at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, 7152 North 41st Street, Milwaukee; the Mass will also be available on Zoom. Jean would encourage all to wear a mask to help stop the spread of Covid, if not for yourself, then for someone you love.
