Jean Ann Aberdeen

(nee Meloy) age 86 years, of Hartland, Wisconsin, was welcomed into God's loving arms on Thursday June 28, 2018 at Hartland Place. Jean was born on August 22, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband Don Aberdeen, her parents Vincent and Angeline (nee Fox) Meloy and her two brothers Dennis Meloy and Kenneth Meloy.

Jean entered the Order of the Sisters of Mercy at the age of 18 where she remained for 20 years. During this time she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education, taught in the Catholic schools and served as a principal. After leaving the Order, Jean worked in management for the Teamsters Union and then Continental Bank, both located in Chicago, Illinois.

Jean met Don Aberdeen while riding the "L" to work, as both were working in downtown Chicago. It was love at first site and they married on June 15, 1974. They enjoyed almost 24 years of marriage together before Don went home to our Lord on April 8, 1998.  

Jean is survived by her four sisters, Maryann (the late Ken) Wheeler of Raleigh, North Carolina, Ilene (the late Arthur) Retzlaff of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, Patsy (the late Jim) Quinn of The Villages, Florida and Katie (Ron) Hoth of Advance, North Carolina, and two sisters-in-law Patricia (the late Dennis) Meloy of Sebring, Florida and Sharon (the late Kenneth) Meloy of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, along with many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and many very special friends. Jean is also survived by Don's son, Jeff Aberdeen and his wife Kathy, as well as their families. Jean was also very much loved by her dog, Abby, who has been adopted by Jean's wonderful friend, Marianne.

A memorial gathering will begin at 9:30am followed by a mass at 10:00am on Saturday, July 28, 2018, all at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, Wisconsin 53029. A light reception will follow the service. Burial will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery in Benton, Wisconsin later that day. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to AngelsGrace Hospice (W359 N7430 Brown Street, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin 53066) or to St. Charles Catholic Church (313 Circle Drive, Hartland, Wisconsin 53029).
