Janice Ann (Marcou) Riley

Janice A. Riley (nee Marcou), 86, died peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at St. Camillus Life Plan Community in Wauwatosa, WI, on January 12, 2023, due to complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

Janice was born and raised in La Crosse, WI, and earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the Wisconsin State College (now UW-La Crosse.) Her teaching career included public schools in Appleton and West Allis. She married fellow teacher and love of her life, Lewis Riley, in 1966. As a loving mother and homemaker, Janice continued teaching her three children by her own example. Janice enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and devoting her time and talents as a volunteer at St. Jude the Apostle Parish.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband Lewis and recently, her brother Robert Marcou of La Crosse, WI. She is survived by her children, Robert, of Milwaukee, WI, Mary (Sean LaBat), of Richmond, VA, and Colleen (Bryan) Boland, of Pittsburgh, PA, grandchildren Emma, Daniel, Abigail and Patrick, and great-grandchildren Ari and Celia. Janice is also survived by her dear sister-in-law, Diane Marcou, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17th from 4PM until the time of Mass at 6PM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 734 Glenview Ave., Wauwatosa, WI.
