James Edward Gottsacker

Born to life on April 29, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Eugene J. Gottsacker and LaVerne (nee Sherwan) Gottsacker, Jim passed away January 15, 2020 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin at the age of 71 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Colleen Marie (nee Schmidler) Gottsacker; his dear children Alexander (Alyssa) Gottsacker and Daniel Gottsacker and his loving grandchildren Alexander Gottsacker, Jr., Brooklyn Gottsacker and Finleigh Gottsacker. Preceded in death by his parents, Jim is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Jim was a graduate of Brookfield Central High School. He served his country during the Vietnam War as an M.P. in the US Army. He then worked for the City of Milwaukee, first as a police officer and then as a communications specialist.

A Memorial Gathering will be held for Jim on Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 12:00 Noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:30pm, all at Covenant Lutheran Church, 8121 West Hope Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53222, Pastor Steven Voigt, presider. Inurnment will be private at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
