Helen Shaughnessy Langhoff, lived most of her life in Shorewood, WI and spent her retirement in Thiensville, WI. She was born on August 10th, 1931 and entered into Eternal Life on Saturday, July 30th 2022.
Helen was pre-deceased by her beloved sons John and Patrick; her parents Judge William F. and Esther M. Shaughnessy; four sisters, Mary Elizabeth Fritsch (Killian), Edith Loughrey (Charles), Catharine Kellogg (Edward), Eileen Weinand (Donald) and one brother Judge William J. Shaughnessy. She had sincere gratitude for the faith and love they shared.
Throughout her life Helen considered God’s greatest blessing were her nine children. Thomas, David (Carla), John, Patrick, Michael (Susan), Mary Helen Bromley, Daniel (Sarah), William (Cindy) and Peter. Her love continued to multiply with the addition of seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
To her lifelong friends from St. Robert Grade School, Holy Angels Academy and Mount Mary College and many years as an Occupational Therapist at The Zablocki VA Medical Center, Helen appreciated your friendships and many good times together. While at Mount Mary, Helen was inducted into Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges and upon graduation into Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society. She retired from The VA Medical Center in 1995 as a Geriatric Rehab Specialist. One of her proudest accomplishments was her role as Prefict of the Sodality and the honor of crowning Our Lady at St. John’s Cathedral.
To her health care providers throughout the years, especially over the last fifteen, she was forever grateful for your expertise and care; a special thank you to Scott A. Jorgensen MD, Ranveer Nand MD, Stephen G. Sievers MD, Talal Khairi, MD, Sharon Trompeter, RN and the staff at DaVita, the staff at Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee and finally, the Lawlis Family Hospice and their amazing staff.
Funeral mass to be offered at St. Robert’s Church 4019 N. Farwell Avenue, Shorewood, WI on Friday, August 12th 2022 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at the church.
Memorials requested to DSHA Scholarship Fund or Mount Mary University Scholarship Fund or charity of your choice. In lieu of flowers please donate to The National Kidney Foundation.
