Gloria Clare Pozorski
Born in Appleton, Wisconsin on May 20, 1922, the daughter of George T. and Angeline Richard, Gloria was called to eternal life on March 5, 2022, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the age of 99 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband, Raymond T. Pozorski. Gloria is survived by her two cherished sons, Richard Pozorski and Robert Pozorski, and many friends.
After graduating from high school, Gloria attended nursing school. She then joined the US Navy serving during World War II aboard the hospital ship USS Refuge in the South Pacific Theatre. She was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1946, after attaining the rank of Lieutenant j.g. Upon her return to the states, Gloria enrolled at Marquette University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in public health nursing. With her degree in hand, she worked for many years for the Whitefish Bay Health Department at three schools as a school nurse. A devout catholic, Gloria was also a 71-year member of Holy Family Parish Church in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. After her long and fruitful life, she passed away peacefully into God's hands.
Visitation will be held for Gloria on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 10:00am until the time of Mass at 11:30am, all at Holy Family Parish Church, 4825 North Wildwood Avenue, Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin 53217. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Appleton, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church requested.
