Ernst Walter Tamm "Ernie"
Our beloved Ernie was born to eternal life on April 24, 2025. He was cherished by many, especially his wife, Jen, and his son, EJ. Ernie loved spending time with family and friends — grilling out, playing Kubb, and simply enjoying the company of those he loved.
Ernie had a rich and deep faith life. In September 2005, he was ordained as a deacon in the New Apostolic Church. Over nearly twenty years of ministry, he touched the lives of many, always sensitive, helpful, and quick to offer support wherever it was needed. He was deeply dedicated to his weekly Bible study group and was often the first to volunteer when help was called for.
A gifted musician, Ernie’s resonant and rich bass voice is sorely missed in the mixed choir, vocal ensembles, and male choir. His love for music and faith were gifts he passed on to his son, EJ, instilling in him a strong foundation upon which to build his own life.
Ernie also brought joy to many through his wonderful sense of humor. Whether mimicking foreign accents, making puns, or sharing endless dad jokes, he had a knack for lifting spirits and easing tensions. From a young age, Ernie used his quick wit to bring laughter and light into any situation.
Above all, Ernie was a devoted and hands-on father. He encouraged EJ to challenge himself academically and supported him wholeheartedly in pursuing his goal of becoming an Eagle Scout. His legacy of love, faith, humor, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Ernie was the beloved husband of Jen and the devoted father of E.J. He was the loving son of Ernie Tamm, Sr. and the late Joyce Tamm, and the dear brother of Robin Cianciola. Ernie is further survived by his mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held for Ernie on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 3:30pm until the time of services at 4:30pm, all at New Apostolic Church, 11722 West Florist Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53225.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund will be established for Ernie's son, E.J. Please make checks payable to: "E.J. Tamm".
