Born to life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 14, 1934, the daughter of John and Antonia (Krsko) Mojto, Emily was born to eternal life at Kathy Hospice in West Bend, Wisconsin, on May 23, 2024 at age 89 years.
Emily graduated from Messmer High School on June 1, 1952 and married Joseph Kosso on July 11, 1953 and they were happily married until Joe’s passing on November 9, 2008.
She survived by her loving children Joseph (Nancy) Kosso, Mary (Mark) Petersen, Theresa (Bill) Somers and Susie (Steve) Serchen; her dear grandchildren Andy Kosso, Ryan Kosso, the late Michael Kosso, Christina (David) McCardle, Elizabeth Cahlamer, Josh (Andrea) Hutwagner, Angie (Moe) Peterson, Lindsay Somers (fiancé Ben Vannah), Billy Somers, Tony (Gretchen) Behrens, Halee Behrens, Kevin (Whitney) Pokrzywinski, Blake (Stephanie) Kenney, TJ (Stephanie) Lee, Mitchell (Valerie) Bogumill and Kyle (Elizabeth) Riesen; her cherished great-grandchildren Kasey McCardle, Mark Cahlamer, Elliot Cahlamer, Christian Peterson, Olivia Peterson, Harper Peterson, Mila Peterson, Sean Strasser, Mallory Strasser, Vincent Somers, Ruby Behrens, Jax Pokryzwinski, Nyx Pokryzwinski, Willow Kenney, Elowen Kenney, Kyngston Lee, Jayda Lee, Kamdyn Lee, Maryah Lee, Abby Bogumill, Aubry Bogumill, Isaiah Riesen and Ellie Riesen; and too many nieces, nephews to list, in addition to other relatives and friends.
Emily was a devoted worker for Milwaukee County as a mailroom supervisor. Prior to that, she worked at Allis Chalmers and Harley Davidson. She was extremely proud of her Slovak heritage, shown by her membership in the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association, St. Ann’s Society Branch 376 and the Wisconsin District Louise M. Yash, along with the Jednota, and she was a delightful fixture at the annual Federated Slovak Societies picnic for decades. She was most happy when she was surrounded by her caring family and friends.
Visitation will be held for Emily on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 9:30am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am, all at St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Church, N89 W16297 Cleveland Avenue, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin 53051. Interment next to her husband Joe will follow the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
