Ellen Marie (Krueger) Yanke

Our dear mother Ellen Marie Yanke (nee Krueger) peacefully passed away on January 12, 2023, at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim, parents Robert and Agnes Krueger, siblings John, Joan (Trapp) and Bobby. She is survived by her children Laurie Muffler (Ray), Jim (Wendy) and Linda Gmach (Brian), grandchildren Michael, Cassie and Jimmy Muffler, and step-grandchildren Ashley Lederman, Steven Herbst and Aidan Gmach.

Those who knew her, most commonly noticed her positive attitude. Her warm and happy personality made it a joy to be around her. It was always fun to be around her during holidays, watching a Packer game, going to a Brewer game, or just hanging out. It was fun making her laugh, or watching her attempt to tell a funny story without laughing.

She was independent, open-minded and always stood up for what she believed in. She was strong in her faith. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world. She also was a talented, but soft-spoken artist as shown by the pencil drawings and watercolor paintings that she occasionally did. She often said how much she loved being a mother and grandmother and remained close to her kids and grandkids. She was selfless, empathetic, kind, and a generous soul, who helped people in need throughout her life. She will be missed.

Visitation will be held for Ellen on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 2:30pm until the time of Mass at 3:30pm, all at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church - Mapleton, W359N8512 Brown Street, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin 53066. Private interment will take place at St. Matthew Cemetery in Campbellsport, Wisconsin.
