Dorothy L. Merritt

Age 95 years. (nee Tessendorf).  Passed away peacefully March 10, 2020 at Park Manor Care Center in Park Falls, Wisconsin.  Born to life May 24, 1924 daughter of Harry and Lillian (nee Hoppe) Tessendorf.  Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Francis "Bud"  in 2006.  Beloved mother of Jane (Robert) Farkas, William Merritt and Arlene Merritt.  Dear grandmother of Scott (Marcy) Farkas, Bryan (Michele) Farkas, Michelle (Jeffrey) Clark and Steven (Brittney) Schlaack.  Loving great grandmother of Ryleigh Farkas, Raegan Farkas, Genevieve Farkas, Ameilia Farkas, Eli Farkas, and Henry Clark.  Further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Dorothy was very kind and made a friend of everyone she met.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Dorothy was a trained head cook for the Milwaukee Public Schools.  She enjoyed cooking and Baking and cake decorating for all her family and friends.  She was filled with laughter, generosity, love and recipes.  She and Bud enjoyed ballroom dancing on the weekends and camping and traveling around the country.

She was very sure of her Father in heaven and reminded us that she prayed for us everyday of her life and praised Him daily.  It is with happiness that she is now in the presence of God and our dad who loved her with all his heart.

We will keep her memory alive through endless stories and all the many photos our dad took of his family and friends.  She always knew her next destination was with the Lord and Savior and we are so happy she is with Him.  We look forward to reuniting together with her and all those who look to the Lord of Life who have gone ahead of us.

Dorothy was a long time member of Mt. Lebanon Lutheran Church which she joined in 1958.  Memorials to Mt. Lebanon Church appreciated by her family.

Visitation Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Mt. Lebanon Lutheran Church, 4809 N. 60th Street (N. 60th St. at W. Hampton Ave.) from 12:00 PM until Services at 1:00 PM.  Entombment Wisconsin Memorial Park. In response to the well being of Dorothy's relatives and friends due to the COVID-19 virus,  the 1:00 PM Services will be live streamed at: Facebook.com/TheMountMKE
