Donna died peacefully in her sleep on Monday morning December 30, 2024 after a long journey with Alzheimer's disease at the age of 89. She was in hospice care at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa, WI with loving care of her family and loved ones, taking her final breath with daughter Lisa, holding her hand.
Donna was born in Milwaukee, WI, the only child born to mother Anne Elizabeth Mattson (Appleyard) and father Werner Filomen Mattson. She was raised in Milwaukee and Hayward, Wisconsin.
Donna lived her life with an adventurous spirit, filled with joie de vivre, her family and many friendships. Donna was married to George Jacobson (b. 1927 - d. 1990) having 3 daughters. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela L. Jacobson (Ginger Gandy) of Cincinnati, OH, Laura M. Smith of Milwaukee, WI, Lisa A. Jacobson of Milwaukee, WI and her 4 cherished granddaughters, Krystle M. Smith, Stephanie A. Smith, Natalie L. Smith and Rachel L. Smith.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring, Saturday April 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM at First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee, 1342 N. Astor Street, Milwaukee, WI.
