Donald J. Kretlow. Of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born to Eternal Life July 12th, 2023, age 94 years. Beloved husband of Virginia. Dear father of Mary and Michael (Tatiana). Loving grandfather of Jennifer, David, Valerie (Edgar), and Joseph. Proud great-grandfather of Penny, Jason, River, and Lily. Preceded in death by sisters Lorraine (Howard) Schwenn, Betty (Donald) Quinn, and Dorothy (Bill) McDonald, brothers Col. Stanley (Emma-Jane) and Col. Sydney (Ann Marie) Kretlow. Also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Don worked at Roundy’s Warehouse for 23 years before retiring. He spent many enjoyable hours hunting deer, geese, and ducks with his treasured Labrador retrievers. He loved training his dogs to listen, heel, and retrieve game. His first dog, Dan, won many trophies and ribbons. He had a passion for archery, pistol, trap shooting and rifle target shooting. He was a member of several gun clubs dating back to 1956 until his passing. He loved watching all kinds of sports on TV particularly Green Bay Packers (all football really), NASCAR, Indy Car (open wheel), all auto racing, Golf, the Olympics, Bucks, occasionally Brewers. He was a loving and caring husband who was devoted to comforting and protecting the love of his life, Ginny who is battling Alzheimer’s.
Visitation will be at Jelacic Funeral Home Saturday, August 26th from 10:30 am until noon with service directly to follow.

Any donations to the Midway USA Foundation to the Wauwatosa East\West Trap Shooting Club are matched 100% by Larry and Brenda Potterfield owners of Midways USA. Dad eagerly waited to hear Joe’s scores after every event. Dad even passed on his beloved BT-99 to Joe which has propelled Joe to be in the top 3 after picking up the sport 2 years ago.
