DeLisa Dixon

DeLisa Dixon was born to life on August 1, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Willie B. and Jearline (nee Williams) Dixon, DeLisa was born to eternal life on November 7, 2021.

DeLisa was baptized at Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at an early age. In her later years, she attended the City of Faith Church, also in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Educated in the Milwaukee Public Schools System and a graduate of Washington High School, DeLisa continued her post high school education at Milwaukee Area Technical College, earning an associate degree as a Nursing Assistant. This led her to a career as a universal worker and health care technician at the Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she aided veterans in their day-to-day lives.

DeLisa wed Ulysses L. Ference, and from this union a son was born, Romero Ference, who DeLisa was most proud of.

DeLisa loved to spend time with family, friends, especially her furbaby, Lacy Belle, while enjoying Chinese food, listening to music, and forcing them to watch her favorite Reality TV shows and movies. She selflessly lifted other's spirits with her words of encouragement, listening ear, and infectious laugh. - never asking for anything in return. DeLisa also valued her "me time" and maintained self-care by getting her rest & relaxation. Last, but not least, DeLisa loved spoiling Lacy with outfits & cuddles. DeLisa leaves to mourn her passing her loving son, Romero Ference; her dear sisters, Ora J. Brimley and Patricia A. Hunt; her cherished nieces and nephews, Kito Hunt, Tamiko Brimley, Tiffani Brimley, Nicole Mason and Tunita Watkins; many great-nieces and great -nephews; and she is further survived by a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie B. and Jearline Dixon; her brother, Willie H. Dixon; and her former husband, Ulysses L. Ference.

A Celebration of Life will be held for DeLisa on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm, with a Time of Remembrance and Sharing from 2:00pm until 3:00pm, all at Dandy Hall, 5020 West Vliet Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53208. Please come prepared with your favorite story to share about DeLisa.
