Collette Serita Risiner
Was born on August 16, 1959, in Milwaukee, WI. She was the only child born to Darryl Morgan and Sharon Risiner. Collette departed this life unexpectedly on July 23, 2023.
She received her formal education and graduated from John Marshall High School in Milwaukee. Collette was very industrious and loved working with her hands and fixing things. She took on various jobs through the years but the one she was most proud of was being a mother to her only child and son Kamario Risiner. After several years of managing the successful television and acting career of her son, she left Hollywood, California and returned home. Collette was employed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a newspaper carrier, the United States Postal Service as a Mail Carrier and her work ended as a machinist with Master Lock Company, LLC in Milwaukee where she had plans to retire. She was also a member of UAW LOCAL 469.
Our beloved Collette, best known as Coco, was kind yet tough with a big heart and gentle spirit. She was compassionate and always there when you needed her. She was gifted with comedic talent and could light up a room with her smile and jokes! She loved making people laugh, feel special and loved. Coco enjoyed bowling, basketball, and being with her loved ones.
Collette was preceded in death by her father Darryl Morgan; brothers Darryl Tatum (Patchy) and Von Tatum; sister Vanessa Tatum; favorite cousin Theresa Joy Thomas; grandparents Vesta and Kenneth Sheppard; grandfather Alfred Risiner; great grandparents Vanessa and William Douglas; and Nadine Allen.
Collette loved being a grandma to Ariana M. Risiner, Kayler Rams, and Kayden Loker. She leaves to cherish her memory: Kamario Risiner (son), Sharon Risiner (mother); Siblings Jackie Weatherall, Javon Long, Anthony Howard, Christmas Davis (Munchie); God-children D’Angelo, Ashanti Travers, Jr., Kellianne Felder, Antonio Felder II, Etana Alexander; cousins favorite Antoinette Bradshaw, Dion Sheppard, Pam Malone, Leland Thomas, William Curtis, Craig Mayberry (M.T.), Algozia Kennedy R.W.), Jenelle Riley, Greg Walker, the late Jerron (Wookah) Robertson; nephew the late Corey Delon Vans and a host of other relatives, and friends.
All who knew Collette had a special place in her heart and for some thank you was never enough for all you did to make her life better; Jamesetta Hendricks, Millie Tirado, Sharon Cobb, Demetria Terrell, Teresa and Robert Hard, Kelly Felder, Bertha McFarland, Polly and Isaac Harper, Alissa McKenzie, Cy White, Anthony Mitchell, Robert Jones, Geneva Harris, Anne Demski, Sarah and Chris Chenery.
Collette was a woman of faith who loved worshiping and reading the Holy Bible. Several years ago she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Collette was an active member of Holy Cathedral Church of God In Christ in Milwaukee WI. She was loved and will be truly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held for Collette on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 2:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 4:00 PM, all at Jelacic Funeral Home, Inc., 5639 West Hampton Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53218.
