Carol Mary (Schraufnagel) Stout

Carol Mary Stout

Carol was born May 12, 1934 in Peeksville, WI, daughter of Ernest and Yolanda Schraufnagel, and passed away on April 28, 2020 in Wauwatosa, WI.  She was 85 years old.

Carol grew up in Mason, WI and went to high school in Ashland, WI.  She then attended Marquette University School of Nursing.  Carol was a nurse for 57 years, mostly working at St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee in various departments where she developed many close friendships.  Carol loved to travel and took many interesting trips in the US and abroad.  She was involved in her neighborhood church, St. Bernadette, where she also had many close friends.  She was truly Christian in her way of life as shown by her compassion, generosity, and caring actions.  She had a warm smile for everyone. 

She was an amazing mother who taught her family kindness.  She is survived by childen Cindy (Jim) Franks Thomae, Mark, Monica (Tom Plutshack), Juliann, and Matt (Jamie).  She was a wonderful sister and is also survived by siblings Joan Dickrell Seavecki, John (Jane) Schraufnagel, Dean (Mimi) Schraufnagel, and Marian Schraufnagel.

She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, dearest daughter Sierra, and brother Ryan.

Carol was a beloved grandmother to Sylvia, Mike (Jamie), Dan (Crystal), Deja, Erin (Curt), Quinn, Nicholas (Natalie), Gabriel (Serah), Alonzo, Lilli, Benito, Isabella, and Olivia. Great grandma to Gavin, Andrea, Nathaniel, Zachary, Sydney, Avery, Mia, Ezra, and Verdell.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she loved and always remembered with a birthday greeting, as well as a countless amount of friends whom she treasured.

She will be cremated and her ashes brought to northern Wisconsin from whence she came.  A service of sharing Carol's love and memories will be held at a later date so that all can participate.
