Bonnie Gene (Mankie) Lawonn

Bonnie Lawonn

(nee Mankie) was born on June 8, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Lawonn and her parents, Eugene and Marion (nee Kluber) Mankie.

Bonnie loved her animals, they were her life and her loved ones. She loved to quilt and needle point, go on shopping trips to thrift stores, and stay in hotels overnight. Bonnie enjoyed a good meal in a restaurant and scary movies. In her younger years, she loved to tend to and ride horses.

Bonnie worked as a switchboard operator most of her life, and she spoke highly of her job. This was her calling in life, in addition to making sweets.

She is survived by her siblings Sharon Haas, Robert (Dawn) Shoen, Greg (the late Shelly) Schoen, Susan (the late George) Kress and Lisa (Haken) Berg, nieces, nephews other friends and dear loved ones.

Visitation will be held for Bonnie on Saturday, December 19, 2020, from 11:00am until the time of services at 1:00pm, all at Jelacic Funeral Home, 5639 West Hampton Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53218. Interment will be private at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
