Obituary

Anne K. Bauer

Anne Kathryn Bauer (Bluhm) was born to eternal life on July 26, 2022, at the age of 77. Mother of Melanie (Curt) Hampton, Emily Bauer (Paul Hofmann), and James Bauer (Mary Goukas). Grandma to Fei, John and Eve Hampton; Rachel and Nick Hofmann, and Izzy Bauer. Sister of Steve (Kitty) Bluhm, Bob (Linda) Bluhm, Lynne (Jim) Duehr, Kathy (Dave) Kopp and Meg (John) Bowen. Further survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Kathleen Bluhm.

Anne grew up in Waukesha, WI attending St. Mary Grade School and Catholic Memorial High School, where she graduated second in her class in 1963.  Anne attended UW-Madison, graduating with honors, and proceeded to get a Master’s degree in German from UW-Milwaukee. Anne was a lover of music and art and played piano beautifully.

Diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1985, Anne was given two years to live. God and Anne had other plans.  Although severely incapacitated physically and with speech, Anne’s kindness to all, never a complaint, and devotion to God gave her a saintly presence leaving a blessed impact on all she met. For the rest of her life, Anne lived with and was given exceptionally loving care by her sister, Meg and Meg's husband, John. During her final journey, Anne was in the loving hands of staff and volunteers at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

To celebrate the saintly life of Anne Bauer, join us Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 11am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon, all at Mother of Good Counsel Parish on 6924 W. Lisbon Ave., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Inurnment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Anne's family would like to thank all our friends and neighbors who have supported us in prayer throughout these past weeks.  We also extend a sincere thank you to the neurological and medical teams, nurses, and CNAs at Froedtert Hospital who gave Anne exceptional care.  We are especially grateful to our Dream Team of nurses and CNA's at Angels Grace Hospice who truly helped to complete Anne's journey with dignity, comfort, and peace.
