Anglus Lerom Walker

Anglus Lerom Walker Sr. was born April 5, 1956.  He was the 5th child born to Jesse Roy Walker Sr. (1928-2000) and Mary Earnestine (Bonds) Walker (1934-2020).  Anglus was born in Henning, TN with his older siblings Peggy, Larry (1951-1983), Oscar (Bobbie Jo 1956-1999), Vanessa (Michael 1954-2017). Jesse and Earnestine relocted to Milwaukee, WI in 1958 when Anglus was 2 years old. At the age of 9 he became big brother to 4 siblings, Wanda (Jerry), Jesse Jr., (Theresa 1968-2003), Shonya (Eric) and Tammy.

Anglus went to Palmer Elementary school and Lincoln middle/high school.  He went to the Navy afterward.  He received an honorable discharge in the mid 70's.  Anglus got his nickname Moonie when he was a toddler.  People in Henning said that his father Jesse was so tall that he could fix the moon and was call moon fixer.  Anglus was a toddler at the time and was nicknamed lil moon.  From that Moonie was formed.

Moonie loved to make people laugh.  He was the jokester and the family comedian.  He did not discriminate jokingly talking about people.  He always had something to say!!  He loved to talk, cook and to eat.  If you had some sweets, he was your best friend at that moment until he found someone with something better.

Moonie loved dogs.  As a teenager he had a dog named Duke.  He trained Duke so well that Duke would walk Vanessa home and wait for her to get in the house, turn the lights on and he would return home.  He also was so afraid of cats that he jumped out of a moving truck that he was driving because a cat was in the back.  

His lineage...  Darryl, Melinda, Romero (1976-2007),Tamika (O'Ryan), Angie, Dominque, Anglus Jr., D'Angelo (Jenni) and Mary (Noel). Grandchildren, great grandchildren.  Aunts Alma, Kay (Anthony), his uncles WD (Vesta), Wash and Alan (Verlesha).  His nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held for Anglus on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 10:00Am until the Time of Remembrance and Sharing at 12:00 Noon, all at Jelacic Funeral Home, Inc., 5639 West Hampton Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53218. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 2:45 PM.
