He would often spend time with his camera on nature trails or in the Boerner Botanical Gardens looking for that perfect photo. Vergil had an ear for audio, enjoying music both as a listener and a self-taught piano player. He had an interest in trains, both model and full sized rail. Vergil loved technology and became a Ham radio operator earning his "Extra Class" license. He liked to impart his knowledge to others and taught many things to both his sons.
Vergil will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The reverend Billy Graham said "Someday a loving Hand will be laid upon our shoulder and this brief message will be given: "Come home"." Vergil is home.
