Timothy Gerard Murphy

"A Gentle Soul"

August 15, 1963 - February 17, 2019

Tim was born in River Falls, Wisconsin and died in Germantown, Wisconsin. He was the sixth child of Joseph Martin Murphy and Sylvia Margaret Niehoff Murphy. He is survived by his brother Chuck (Barbara) Murphy of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, his sister Eileen (Bill) Thompson of Woodbury, Minnesota and their sons Clint and Brett, by his sister Sharon Murphy of Pleasanton, California and her daughters Deanne and Sandra (Josh) Nemec, by his sister Janet Christiansen of Norwood-Young America, Minnesota and her daughters Heather Schaffer and Danielle (Victor) Shabuyna, and by his former brother-in-law Bill Brinda of Duluth, Minnesota and his children Sarah Brinda, Mike (Sam) Brinda and Martin Brinda. He was a great uncle eight times.

His parents, Joe in 1996 and Sylvia in 2008, and his youngest sister Rosanne "Rosie" Brinda in 2003 predeceased him.

Tim lived with his parents until he turned 21 in 1984, then he moved into group homes in New Richmond, Hudson and River Falls until he moved to a group home in Menomonee Falls, in 2009...art his insistence. After his 50th birthday he began to experience increasing difficulties from the onset of dementia associated with Down Syndrome. He died in a nursing home where he did well while in a mental and physical decline. There he died gently and peacefully with Chuck and Barb at his bedside.

Tim enjoyed music, especially his "Holy Trinity" of Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond and Elton John. He liked his favorite tv programs and movies, especially at Stan's Falls Theater, helping around the house and helping others. He liked the weather, newspapers, collecting pop tabs for sick kids.

Tim was gentle, likeable, kind, considerate, thoughtful and adventurous, especially in riding Amtrak alone to Milwaukee from Red Wing, Minnesota. He will be missed.
