Matthew Thomas Layde

Died unexpectedly at his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the age of 29 years.

Matthew is survived  by his loving parents, Michael and Rochelle (nee Yanke) Layde; his sisters, Rebecca Zimmer  (Michael) and Caroline Robbins (Justin); as well as his dearest friend Kristyn Still. He was adored by his nieces and nephews, Ethan, Audrey and Eleanor Zimmer of Bayside, Wisconsin and Liam and Ava Robbins of Denver, Colorado. Other survivors include his Aunt Margaret Layde and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Matthew as born on October 6, 1988 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended Holy Family Parish School in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, Whitefish Bay High School (class of 2007), and the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in Biology and Computer Science. In his short life, Matt touched many people with his kindness, generosity of spirit and warm sense of humor. His main focus in life was taking care of others, especially when their needs were greatest. He loved the outdoors and music, and he was always ready to lend a hand - whether it be helping others with homework, providing IT support for family members, or just making those around him laugh.  

Visitation will be held for Matt on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 10:00am until a Time of Sharing at 11:15am, with Mass at 11:30am, all at Holy Family Parish Church, 4825 North Wildwood Avenue, Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin 53217. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Matt's life. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ASPCA, Holy Family Parish or a mental health organization of your choice.
