Born to Eternal Life on December 6, 2017, at age 47 years. Loving wife of Bryon Schroeder. Dear mother of Joshua, Ty and Samantha. Cherished daughter of Robert Ciganek. Fond sister of Christopher (Gina) Ciganek, Jenny Olson, Stephanie (Scott) McDonald, Andrew (Jet) Ciganek, Janette (Jeremy) Murray, Sandra (Matt) Williamson  and Maggie (Adam) Hangos. Special daughter-in-law of Irene and Will Tingue. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial visitation Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 4:00pm until the Time of Sharing at 6:30pm, with the Memorial Service to immediately follow at 7:00pm, all at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 3970 North 92nd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53222.

Kristin proudly served on the Milwaukee Fire Department for 14 years. She served 12 years as a firefighter and 2 years at a fire lieutenant, until she was forced to retire from the job she loved - only second to the love she had for her family. She set the bar high in her roles as mother, sister, wife, aunt, co-worker, teammate, and cancer fighter. She was selfless when she had every right to be selfish and was strong when most would have succumbed to weakness. Kristin found joy and laughter every day she lived. She impacted all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital Cancer Center or Aurora Zilber Hospice are requested by the family.
