Joseph Francis Donahue
Age 96 years. Born to life December 22, 1920 in New Richmond, Wisconsin the son of Frank Donahue and Mildred McAndrew Donahue. Born to eternal life December 3, 2017 at the Congregational Home in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Preceded in death by his 1st wife Ruth (nee Zabel) and later in life by 2nd wife Bernice (nee Ehlenbeck), also 3 brothers Robert, Mac, and Owen Donahue. Beloved father of Margaret (Joel) LaChapelle and Pattie (Jerry) Manz. Loving grandfather of Kevin LaChapelle, Nicole (Donna) LaChapelle Strumski, Sara (KyoHyun) Kim, and Trina (Clint) Kerkman. Brother of Kevan (Nancy) Donahue. Stepfather of Mary Walterman, Sue Jackson, and John (Jill) Walterman. Further survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Blessed Savior Catholic Church, 8545 West Villard Avenue, Milwaukee from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors.
Joe was a proud WWII Army Air Corps veteran and 64 year member of American Legion Post 490. He also took part in an Honor Flight to Washington DC with other deserving veterans.
Throughout Joe's working years, he was the owner/operator of 2 Texaco service stations and Capitol Brake and Alignment, also managed Gordon's #1 Wheel Service.
Joe was active at the Former St. Stephen Martyr and Mary, Queen of Martyrs Parishes being the former Holy Name President, alter server, communion lay minister both at church and for shut ins, and St. Vincent de Paul volunteer. He also did most of the landscaping around St. Stephen Martyr Church.
Joe was a kind, Irish soul with an infectious smile. Rest in Peace. Until We Meet Again.
