John Michael Mullarkey
Entered Eternal Life on March 6, 2018, after fighting cancer at the age of 77 years. John was the beloved husband for 57 years of Marie Antoinette (nee Tarantino) Mullarkey and the loving father of John (Sarah) Mullarkey, Patrick Mullarkey and the late Michael Mullarkey. He was the cherished grandfather of Jack, Celia, Manis, Christian, Brennan, Jane Ann and Maeve; the dear brother of Cathryn (Karl) Laumer, Manis (Sharon) Mullarkey, Dennis (Susan) Mullarkey and James (Marie) Mullarkey; and the brother-in-law of AnnaRose SanFelippo. John was the dear friend of Dr. Douglas Bower, in addition to being survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Manis and Cathryn Mullarkey; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Carlo Tarantino and Anna Tarantino; his brothers-in-law Anthony Tarantino, Steve Tarantino, Carlo Tarantino, Nick Tarantino and Larry Tarantino; and his sisters-in-law Congetta Bish and Rose Pipia.
John was the founding owner/operator of Gold Rush Chicken on north 27th Street and west North Avenue in Milwaukee. Special thank you to the staff at Horizon Home Care Hospice, especially Margaret Donegan and John's nurse, Vincenca.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, from 9:00am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, all at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 812 North Jackson Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Northeast corner of north Jackson Street and west Wells Street).. Private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the MACC Fund (10000 West Innovation Drive, Suite 135, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53226), St. Anthony Elementary School (1669 South 5th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53204) or Vision Forward (912 North Hawley Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53213) requested by John's family.
