John August Guenzel

John A. Guenzel

Age 70 years.  Born to life November 4, 1947 in Milwaukee the son of Robert Guenzel and Emilie Poliak Guenzel.  Born to eternal life June 4, 2018 at Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.  Beloved husband of Susan (nee Peronto).  Dear father of Michael, Theresa Mueller, John (Alisha), Catherine (Dan) Casey, Barbara (Dion) Laing, Brennan (Amanda), Christine, Angela (Chris) Parsons and Thomas Guenzel.  24 loving grandchildren.  Brother of Mary Ann Guenzel, the late Sandra Harthun and the late Daniel (Cherri) Guenzel.  Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation Sunday, June 10 at Jelacic Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Rosary Vigil at 6:30 PM.  Additional visitation Monday, June 11 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church 524 West Mitchell Street, Milwaukee from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM  Interment Tuesday, June 12 at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, Wisconsin.

For over 30 years, John was a heavy equipment operator.  He was a proud Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps.  He served his country in Vietnam, and twice was awarded the Purple Heart.
