Joanne (Poquette) Ruprecht
Joanne Ruprecht, 86, passed peacefully surrounded by family members on Oct. 15, 2019, in Hermitage, Tenn. Joanne was born in Marinette, Wis., on June 1, 1933, to Edna and Grover Dishaw.
Joanne spent a happy childhood in Marinette growing up with her sister, Marjorie, and brother, Wayne. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1951. She met her first husband, Edward “Eddie” Poquette, in 1952 at a dance at the Dome Ballroom in Marinette. She and Eddie were married on July 4, 1952, at ceremony held at Henes Park in Menominee, Mich. Joanne and Eddie had four children: Denise, Steven, Ronald and Larry. They lived for many years in Milwaukee, Wis., and returned home in 1965 to live in Menominee to raise their children close to family. Eddie passed away in 1990. Joanne later met John “Jack” Ruprecht and they were married on Jan. 7, 1995, in Oconomowoc, Wis. Joanne and Jack lived in Geneseo, Ill., for a few years before moving to Belle Vista, Ark., where they thrived in a vibrant community of retirees. Joanne was a passionate quilter and belonged to two quilting groups: Calico Cutups Quilting Guild and Quilts of Valor in Bella Vista, which provide warm quilts to deployed serviceman. Over the years, Joanne made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. Joanne was an avid reader and was usually reading when not quilting or watching favorite television programs with Jack. She also was a fan of chilled Chardonnay.
Joanne is survived by her brother, Wayne (Pat) Dishaw; children: Denise Withrow and her husband, Robert (Bob), and their two daughters: Kate and Courtney; son, Steven, his wife, Kay, and their three children: Corey, Hannah and Kurt; son, Ronald, his wife, Sharon, and three children: Andrew, Nathan and Sara; son, Larry and his wife, Patti, and their daughters: Alena and Katrina; step-daughters: Kris Ruprecht and Linda Stanford and her children: Emily and Nathaniel; step-son, Jon Ruprecht; great-grandchildren: Quentin, Elsa, Teddy and Dax. Joanne was preceded in her death by husbands: Eddie Poquette and Jack Ruprecht; and her sister, Marjorie (Dishaw) McGuire.
Visitation will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd, Brookfield, Wis., at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019. Mass will follow starting at noon.
