Jeanette Harriet Hess

(nee Grupe) Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Jeanette is survived by her beloved daughter Judy Lade of Whitefish Bay and cherished granddaughters Karissa and Rebecca Lade, formerly of Whitefish Bay, now residing in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her treasured husband Jerry Hess, parents Paul and Rose (nee Duchow) Grupe and sister Evelyn Wilhelm.

Jeanette was born and raised in Sheboygan, Wisconsin where she met and married the love of her lifer, Jerry. They wed on April 14, 1956 and lived happily, raising their daughter until Jerry's untimely passing in 1981. Jeanette enjoyed a quiet and peaceful life. She loved animals and had a succession of lively pet dogs including the spunky poodles Tina and Tootsie. She liked being out in the yard, watching and feeding the birds. She was a die-hard Brewers fan, never missing a game on television, especially cheering for "number 8" with her stuffed "Hank the Dog" by her side. Many are also surprised to learn that Jeanette had a rock and roll side to her, too - she loved Elvis and his music. And, of course, she would never turn down a good cup of coffee.

The family wishes to thank Lydia LaGue for all of her help and support. Special thanks as well to Latonya and Carrie at Symphony of Glendale for their care of Jeanette.

A visitation will be held for Jeanette on Monday, December 18, 2017, from 9:30am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, all at Three Holy Women Parish - St. Hedwig Church, 1702 North Humboldt Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53202. Interment will be at 2:00pm on Monday December 18, 2017 at Calvary Cemetery, 902 North Avenue, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Wisconsin, http://www.wihumane.org/, or the Salvation Army http://www.salvationarmyusa.org.
