Dorothy L. Kastern

Dorothy L. Kastern (nee Busch) (age 90) passed away quietly Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her home in Houston, TX after a lengthy illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Milwaukee until illness forced her to move to Houston where she was cared for by her daughter, Lynette Lloyd and son in law, Mark Tengler.

Dorothy was the loving mother of sons, Anthony J. (Debra) and  William (Esther Leise), and her daughter Lynette Lloyd  (Mark Tengler).  She was the beloved sister of Helen Busch and sister in law of Jacqueline Reich.  Dorothy was overjoyed at being the grandmother of Heather Zanek (Jim), Shannen Utley (Jason), Christian Lloyd (Julie), Aaron Lloyd (Justina), and Luke Lloyd (Lindsey) all of Houston, and Anthony M. Kastern and Matthew J. Kastern (Bridget) of Menomonee Falls, and David Tengler (Theresa) of Waukesha.  She was also great grandmother to Joshua, Karri, Jaden, Jaxton, Avery, Katie, Reagan, Brianna, Noah, Bryce, Elijah, Caleb, Zachary, Annabelle, and London.  Dorothy's nieces, nephews include Ramona Trokan, Perrie Reich, Rene Sayre, Dennis Kastern, Deborah Elvers, Sharon Anderson, and Walter Kastern, Jr.  Special mention is made of her lifelong best friend, Ms. Gerry Hubert.

Dorothy was preceded in death in 2009 by her husband of 63 years, Anthony H. Kastern, her father, Anton J. Busch, her mother, Theresa Reich, and her brother, Ronald J. Reich.

Dorothy was a 1945 graduate of Girl's Technical High School in Milwaukee.  Her great passion was cooking at which she was especially talented.

Visitation Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Jelacic Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  Additional visitation Wednesday March 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 12130 West Center Street, Wauwatosa from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.  Interment to follow services at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
