Christine Mary Ertl
After living a full life, Chris passed away on October 3, 2018. She left this earth very much as she lived her life - with strength and concern for others.
Chris was a giver in her life. She gave herself to her friends, her career and mostly to her family. She will be deeply missed by Mary Ertl Dettmann and family, Del Dettmann, Eric Dettmann and Joanna Marker, Marc Dettmann and Christina Gosack, Drake Dettmann and Aimee Prevallet and Logan Dettmann, by brother Dan and family Laure, John and Diana and by Jeff Mierendorf. Her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many dear friends will also feel the loss of Chris. Meeting her in heaven are Ferdy and Rosemary Ertl, sister Paula Ertl, and many other people who were a part of her life.
Chris also gave herself to many volunteer causes such as holding leadership positions in the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 449, working at the Ronald McDonald House, Festa, Channel 10 Auction and school events for her nephews.
Chris was a friend to all and a second mom to many. People will remember great times at Endris Park, the YPC, many bars and restaurants, just to name a few. Her professional career included service at Mount Mary University, Medical College of Wisconsin and others.
We will gather to remember her life on Saturday November 24, 2018 from 12 noon to 3 pm with a sharing memorial service at 2 pm at Villa du Cours Clubhouse 9014 W. Lisbon Avenue Milwaukee.
Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to Ronald McDonald House (Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin, Attn: Jennifer Krueger, 8948 W. Watertown Plank Rd, Wauwatosa, WI 53226, phone: 414-475-6316; website: info@rmhc-easternwi.org) or Fisher House of Wisconsin (Fisher House Wisconsin, 5000 W. National Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53295-0001, website: www.fisherhousewi.org), a place for Veterans to stay while receiving treatment. Chris loved the American flag, what it stands for and those who sacrificed for all.
